LIGHTFOOT AND PRECKWINKLE LEAD AT 63% OF VOTES COUNTED FOR
Lori Lightfoot continues to lead at the moment with 67,028 votes. Preckwinkle, about 7,000 votes behind is at 60,469. In third place, Daley is at just over 57,000. Votes continue to be counted

Lori Lightfoot leads now with a majority of the vote. As it stands now, Lightfoot has acquired 51,103 of Chicago’s 303,000+ votes.

The polls have now officially closed after record-low voter turnout. Historically, the total number of votes has been much higher, and the number of candidates have been much lower… perhaps a trend in the quantities. In the 2015 race for mayor, candidates Rahm Emanuel, Chuy Garcia, and Willie Wilson gained a total of 429,591 votes.
